Items Which Cannot Be Stored

  • Foods: Spices, flour, sugar, condiments, pasta or any other items that would attract pests.
  • Firearms & Explosives.
  • Hazardous and combustible materials such as gasoline, fuel tanks, aerosol cans, paints, fireworks, alcohols, paint thinners etc.
  • Animals or Plants.
  • Odorous items.

How to Pack your Self Storage Unit

  • Pack so that you are able to access items you may need from time to time.
  • Store items you may need at the front of the unit.
  • Anything important should be wrapped or boxed properly.
  • To save space in the unit, disassemble any large furniture that may be taken apart. e.g. Bed frames, desks, shelving units…etc.
  • Cover all furniture with furniture pads or old bed sheets you may have.
  • Lay a furniture pad down on the floor before placing glass or a breakable down on its edge.
  • Stack chairs seat to seat with a furniture pad separating them.
  • Use file boxes for files and important documents.
  • Avoid leaving boxes half full, this may damage the item inside if other boxes are stacked on top.
  • Wrap plates, glasses and china individually and place it in a box no larger than in a 2 ft cu box.
  • When storing appliances, be sure that they are dry on the inside, and when storing, be sure to leave the door open so that air does not get trapped inside to cause mold.
